About Jan Tuttleman, Ph.D, MBA
Jan Tuttleman, founding President of Women Give San Diego, currently serves in leadership roles for many organizations in San Diego including the United Jewish Federation of San Diego County, the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego, the San Diego Jewish Women’s Foundation, The Burnham Institute for Medical Research, and The Vision of Children. She was the founding chair of the Jewish Women’s Foundation of San Diego, the past President of the San Diego United Jewish Federation Women’s Division and is currently the President of Women Give San Diego, the Philadelphia based Tuttleman Family Foundation and the CFO of the San Diego Community Mikvah and Education Center.
Until recently, Jan was the vice president of Marketing for Huya International, and a business development and licensing consultant for Progenetor, Inc. She has been an angel investor in early stage life science companies in San Diego for the past 14 years. She previously served as the Executive Director of the Days of Molecular Medicine Foundation, UCSD Institute of Molecular Medicine. She obtained her B.A. in chemistry, minor in biology, from Boston University, a Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and her MBA from the UCSD Rady School of Management.
Jan has received the Anne Ratner Award for Community Leadership from the United Jewish Federation of San Diego Women’s Division, the Mitzvah award from San Diego Jewish Family Services and the Women of Dedication Award from the Salvation Army of San Diego Women’s Auxiliary. Jan lives in La Jolla, California and is married to Craig. She has two daughters, Sophie and Emma as well as two stepsons, Jared and Gage. She enjoys playing the flute, running and traveling.
